For a constructed village, region files don't have any meaningful data. I find it goofy that manually created villages don't get a permanent record, but not much I can do about that. Only naturally generated villages have permanent data which is stored in the respective starting chunk of the village. In 1.13 and forward, it's villages.dat:Īs of 1.13.x (I haven't looked at 1.14 snapshots yet), the entries in Villages.dat are only present when a player is around a village and they get deleted when when all players move away. If it's 1.12.2 or earlier, villages are indexed in Village.dat by the global chunk coordinate. Before 1.13, the file is Village.dat but is obsolete and unused after 1.12.2. It depends on the version we're talking about. In the world save's data folder you'll find village.dat(not villages.dat) (#spoiler) = neat!
